Saint-Gobain Sekurit equips Peugeot’s new RCZ coupé

Peugeot launched its racy RCZ coupé in the end of April. Saint-Gobain Sekurit is the sole windshield and backlite supplier for this new upmarket vehicle assembled in Austria by the automotive supplier Magna Steyr.
With its stylish double-bent roof and backlite, this car presents a real technical challenge. The part is so complex that the carmaker initially considered opting for a polycarbonate product but Saint-Gobain Sekurit was able to rise to the challenge and design a clear glass and over-tinted backlite.
Saint-Gobain Sekurit’s Hořovice facility (Czech Republic) makes the windshields, and backlites for this sleek little sportscar are produced at Herzogenrath (Germany).
The RCZ picked up the “most beautiful car of the year 2009” award, during the international auto festival, held in Paris in February 2010.
