Solar Roofs for Automobiles
Saint-Gobain Sekurit has signed with Systaic AG an agreement to develop and market photovoltaic modules for private and industrial vehicle roofs.
These onboard solar roofs will charge betteries or power up the vehicle's electronic equipment, improving their range and reducing CO2 emissions.
With the rapidly growing demand for "green" vehicles, the market for photovoltaic roofs appears very promising.
The cooperation between Saint-Gobain Sekurit, the world's leading automotive glass manufacturer, and Systaic AG, the only company providing series production of vehicle solar roofs, positions the two companies at the forefront of this growing market segment.
